History Channel 2017

In Garbanzo's 2017 HISTORY collection, The Dark Files uses scan lines, fragments of type and layered documents to build a graphic language around investigation. Narrow white lettering and small red accents remain visible through the interference, giving the promotional material a tense, unstable surface.

The collection also includes an endpage for America's War on Drugs. Bold white type sits over the contents of an open briefcase, placing the program name inside the image before the HISTORY mark closes the sample. These pieces put design and animation to work in the brief moments when a program must identify itself, deliver its promo message and leave an impression.

Dark Files

Layered documents, scan-line texture and narrow lettering give the promo an uneasy, analogue feel. Small red accents break up the mostly monochrome image.

Dark Files text template animation

Fragmented white lettering and horizontal bands make the text part of the interrupted-signal treatment. The selected examples collect different messages within that graphic system.

America's War on Drugs

An open briefcase supplies the frame for bold white program type. The sample connects that title treatment with the HISTORY identity.
