Discovery Channel 2015
For Discovery Channel's Arctic Rescue, snow-covered landscapes and lettering set against an icy surface establish a cold, physical world. The accompanying map animation carries that treatment into geography, pairing an Alaska overview with closer views and spare white location graphics. Garbanzo's design and animation give the program an identity and a way to orient the viewer.
Gold Fever works with a different set of materials. Weathered, dimensional gold lettering stands above a forested mining scene, placing the title inside the program's setting. The collection includes the show-open sample alongside proposed storyboards and earlier logo directions. Maps, illustrated figures and aged-paper treatments show some of the ideas explored during development, while the finished title image takes a more sculptural approach.
Arctic Rescue
Snowy location imagery leads into widely spaced lettering against a rough, frozen surface. The title treatment brings the show's harsh environment into its opening identity.

Map Animations
The maps carry the opener's cold palette into views of Alaska and the terrain around the rescue locations. Fine white markers give the geography a clear focal point within the textured imagery.

Gold Fever
Dimensional gold lettering gives the show title weight above the mining scene. Surface wear and warm light connect the type with the environment around it.

Proposed Storyboards
These proposed frames explore gold seams, map imagery and illustrated figures within a rough, tactile treatment. They record development ideas rather than a shot-by-shot account of the finished open.

Logo Exploration
The logo studies try the title as an aged certificate, a dark dimensional sign, burned paper and a flatter graphic treatment. They show how different materials and lettering could establish the program's identity.
